Christmas 2012

It was a different Christmas this year. We only had Seth home with us. Sean and Caleb weren't able to join us from B.C. and Kelly was spending Christmas with her boyfriend in California. Although all the kids couldn't be here it was a great Christmas but we are hoping that next year will be different! On Boxing Day Chris and I (Seth was working and couldn't get the time off) drove down to St. George to visit daddy, see Kelly on the way back home in Salt Lake City and to meet her boyfriend Dallin. Funny thing though when we met him for the first time he wasn't Kelly's boyfriend anymore. He was our future Son-in-law! He had popped the question the day before!

The Sunday before Christmas we drove out to the Cahoon's (Lee Lee's) for dinner and yes you see Rudolphs nose and antlers on my car. Just being festive and fun!

Mark and Clark taking the turkey out of the oven veeeeery carefully (had to get a shot just in case it dropped because it was sitting on a wobbly cookie sheet). Ha!

Lee Lee's Christmas table always looks smashing!

It's always fun to take those "Christmas morning" pictures right? As you can tell Chris had been awake for awhile and Seth had JUST BARELY woken up!

No picture of me (those are my legs though) but here in one of my favorite gifts from Lee Lee. Yep, pink M&M's printed with our "picture" and "best sister" and "twins forever" on them. It kind of feels funny to eat them but I do anyway because I LOVE M&M's! The picture below is the ever traditional Christmas morning cinnamon rolls! I have FINALLY pefected the gooey sauce thanks to one of Kelly's friends!

I gave this CD to Chris for Christmas and we listened to it a lot on our trip to Utah. The group is from Newfoundland and it's loaded with upbeat music and positive lyrics with a celtic flare!

We saw this SUV in Idaho Falls and thought it was kind of fun. It's even more festive than my Rudolph car! Great idea.

On the day we arrived in St. George there was a concert at the Old Tabernacle and so Daddy, his friend Nikki and I went. The picture below is of the inside. Interesting story about the Tabernacle: Brigham Young asked the saints in St. George to build it 1871 and interestly enough this is where Lorenzo Snow delivered his talk on tithing. Apparently St. George was in real trouble because there hadn't been rain for a very long time so after Lorenzo Snow's talk the people started to pay thier tithing, the rain came and St. George was saved. Lorenzo Snow was living in SLC at the time and had an impression to go down to St. George. He didn't know the reason until after this happened. Cool eh?

The ever beautiful St. George temple. As soon as the Old Tabernacle was just about complete Brigham Young then said, "I think it's time we build a temple here". It was completed in 1876.

We had a great Christmas season this year! We had a great road trip just Chris and I and Kelly got engaged! Hard to beat! Until next year though when all of our kids will be home for Christmas. No pressure.....just trying to be positive! :)
