My/Our Birthday!

Okay, so this year Lee Lee and I decided to have a sleepover. She slept in Kelly's room but Chris would have totally let her sleep in our bed so it would be a proper sleepover but just having her down the hall was good enough for me! Just knowing she was going to be there the next morning was pretty exciting. I have had many sleepovers at her house but this is the first time she has slept as my house!

We didn't do anything huge or great or big or exciting but it was fun. We 2 gals don't need much to make us happy. Just being together is all we need!

I let Lee Lee choose were we were going to eat our birthday dinner and she chose....Taco Bell! No problem with me at all. I know. It isn't very birthday like but like I said it doesn't matter. Remember, we just like being together! (lovely picture isn't it?)

This year Lee Lee made the cake and then brought it with her to my house. She made my famous chocolate scratch cake with her homemade german chocolate frosting. It was delish! I guess next year it will be my turn to make our cake.

I found a MacDonald's Barbie in my cupboard so I just stuck her on top and then added a few candles. (no boyfriends!)

Yes, the candles singed Barbie's hair.

We had a nice birthday but as you can tell we didn't take many pictures. I wasn't feeling well but we managed to go to a movie (late one) and then the next day we shopped and shopped. Wonder what year 53 will bring for us???
Whatever it is it will be great. Because Oh yah, it doesn't matter what or where, it just matters that we are together doing "whatever"!

Kelly and Michelle

On May 16th Seth and I drove down to Utah to see Kelly and to also be there for Michelle's Sealing/Wedding the very next day. Seth watched movies and I sang the whole way down. Our trip was great!

We pulled in to Salt Lake City at about 7:30 pm. We unloaded the car and then walked towards Temple Square. The weather was Utah perfect! We stopped first at what used to be The Hotel Utah and snapped this picture and the one below.

We then walked on to Temple Square and I got this great shot of Kelly and Seth. I think Kelly had been missing her brother!

The temple at night. Any angle of the temple is beautiful no matter what time of day!

The next morning while doing a little shopping we saw TCBY. None of us had ever been there before and we were so glad we went because it's the best yogurt around! We actually went back a few days later and brought grandpa/daddy with us.

Later that day we went to the M.A.C. counter at Nordstrom where Michelle was getting her make-up done for her wedding. We got there just in time for a quick picture before she became Mrs. Bledsoe a couple of hours later!

It's not often we get to have pictures of us dressed up and in the same spot. But where are Sean and Caleb? Another time.

And it's even better when you can have 3 generations together!

Michelle and Jordan just as they walked out of the temple. Pretty happy pair I'd say.

Look at how happy Jordan is. They are both crazy about each other!

Prettiest shot of he day I think. You just can't beat it!

The Cahoon family. Laurel wasn't there because she is serving a mission but that's Brad's finace' Alyssa. She joins the family on July 28th, 2012!

As we were walking back from the temple to Kelly's apartment she and and Grandpa held hands most of the way. Is that not the cutest thing ever?! I'm not sure who enjoyed it more. Kelly or grandpa :).

Kelly's fridge was the official cooler for Michelle's reception flowers.

While at the reception we were able to see our favorite cousins and thier mom Stevie. Lee Lee and I used to visit them every summer when we were little and always had the best time. From snake grass to Mary Poppins! Megan, Debbie and I sadly discovered that we are only second cousins and not first cousins like I thought. No worries though. It hardly matters when it comes to family!

The next day we went to the Church History Museum. That museum never gets old no matter how many times you go. Here is Seth standing at the original(I think) podium that was once used in the original Tabernacle on temple square.

Kelly standing next to President Hinckley's items. Her favorite prophet!

Later that day we went to Nordstrom for lunch. This is where Kelly gets to work 5 days a week!

And here we are at our table in Sixth and Pine. Oh, did I mention that Kelly is the head hostess here? :)

Look at the size of that crouton! And the best fresh lemonade ever. They keep topping up your glass like it's water!

The day before Seth and I drove back home we decided to go to Hogel Zoo in SLC. The weather was perfect and I got a parking spot right by the entrance which was like the luckiest thing ever!
Anyway we took this little train ride around and saw the most exotic animals ever! A bison, Canadian Geese and a Hawk! So funny because those are native to where we live. That made the little train ride even funner and funnier! Ha!

What's a day at the zoo without a picture with an Ape right?

Look at the colors of the parrot. Now look at the colors of Kelly and Seth's shirts. Colors inspired by nature!

Seth loved Salt Lake and I loved being there too. We packed in a lot of fun in the 5 days we were there. Besides loving to visit Utah, I love being with family so it was the perfect combonation. Kelly is doing great living on her own and is very happy! And the best part? We get go back when ever we want because Kelly is there and that makes it so much better! Thank you for showing Seth and I a super great time Kelly!
