My new found love this summer! The Creek!

I have simply fallen in love with going to the creek this summer! There are so many creeks around Leavitt with fun and simple things to do. Getting to some of the creeks takes an AWD or a 4WD to maneuver thru the hills while others you can get to with your standard car or a long walk once your there. Either way you get to the creek it's a fun adventure in it's self!

This is Okie Hole. Up at the end of the creek or way up high to the right on the rocks is where Michelle loves to fish!

This is up on the bank of Okie Hole. One of the fun things the Cahoon's have done at the creeks for years and years are wiener roasts along with all the fixin's. Smore's, chips and whatever else you can grab and go! Here are some of us after the Cardson Parade. The day was a little cool but that never ever hinders anyone from having any fun!

Here is Lee Lee and Rio on the way to the creek. She loves Lee Lee. We let Rio out of the truck as soon as we are well on the way and she runs and runs and runs along side the truck.

This creek is upstream from Cahoon Crossing on someones land but as long as we shut the gate behind us so his cattle don't get out it's all good!

Floating in one of the deeper spots up from Cahoon Crossing.

When Kelly came up for a little visit we went to Value Village on the Grand Reopening day and we (she) found these beauties! Keen water shoes for me and those crazy toe shoes for her. Boy, did we ever get a deal on those!

One of the things I love about going to the creek is walking in the creek. In my new Keen's! Love. Love. Love it!

This is another creek called The Falls. To get to this sweet spot you have to drive to Cahoon Crossing and then walk downstream and thru someone's private property (we got permission).

This shot of the creek is what you see right behind me in the previous picture.

Here is the same spot but taken at a different angle.

Yep! That's me in a bears den! It's downstream from The Falls and up on the other side of an embankment. My legs are totally outstretched behind me and I couldn't even reach the back end of the hole!

When that bear returns for his winter hibernation he is going to know that someone was there! Surprise! Now who has the last laugh!

Seth's HS Graduation!

Being able to say that you have gone to 3 different high schools is a bit rare. Seth can say it! Seth's start to high school was in was in Regina at Sheldon Williams but was only there for about 2 1/2 months before we moved to Lethbridge. He then finished his grade 9 year at LCI and completed his grade 10 there also. But then, Lethbridge built a new high school not far from our house so guess what? He changed schools again and went to grades 11 and 12 at Chinook. His class was the second graduating class. Kind of exciting. Seth was a little bit disappointed though because unlike his 3 older siblings, both the Banquet and Graduation ceremonies were in the Chinook HS gym.

The Banquet was held a month before the actual graduation. Not quite sure why they couldn't combine both events but it was fun attending both. It kind of made for a longer celebration. Seth was dashing in his new suit!

Here are Seth's clothes all layed out and ready to be worn at graduation. His cap, gown, stole and new white shirt. Funny, but he gets to keep the gown but has to return the gold stole. Wierd don't ya think? Sean, Kelly and Caleb all had to return thier gowns. What is Seth going to do with a HS graduation gown? Halloween I suppose.

Sure wish that guy with the red cap wasn't in the first 2 pictures! That's okay though we were able to see Seth just fine.

It was actually really nice that the graduation was in the gym. The class wasn't all that big because it's a new school so there was plenty of seating. The bleachers are kind of like little chair seats so they weren't too uncomfortable to sit on. By the way... the school mascot is a coyote.

Almost Seth's turn for the big moment. He had a pretty big smile on his face! We weren't able to get the official diploma hand shaking picture. We opted instead to get a video of the moment but will get an official picture from the school. For a price of course!

Mother and son!

Father and son!

Mother looking up to son!

Seth's "mug shot" pose.

The "I did it and I'm proud" shot!

What is a HS graduation if you can't hang your tassle on the rear view mirror anyway?

Congratulations Seth! Now on to bigger and better things! Seth will be attending the University of Lethbridge in the Fall.

My/Our Birthday!

Okay, so this year Lee Lee and I decided to have a sleepover. She slept in Kelly's room but Chris would have totally let her sleep in our bed so it would be a proper sleepover but just having her down the hall was good enough for me! Just knowing she was going to be there the next morning was pretty exciting. I have had many sleepovers at her house but this is the first time she has slept as my house!

We didn't do anything huge or great or big or exciting but it was fun. We 2 gals don't need much to make us happy. Just being together is all we need!

I let Lee Lee choose were we were going to eat our birthday dinner and she chose....Taco Bell! No problem with me at all. I know. It isn't very birthday like but like I said it doesn't matter. Remember, we just like being together! (lovely picture isn't it?)

This year Lee Lee made the cake and then brought it with her to my house. She made my famous chocolate scratch cake with her homemade german chocolate frosting. It was delish! I guess next year it will be my turn to make our cake.

I found a MacDonald's Barbie in my cupboard so I just stuck her on top and then added a few candles. (no boyfriends!)

Yes, the candles singed Barbie's hair.

We had a nice birthday but as you can tell we didn't take many pictures. I wasn't feeling well but we managed to go to a movie (late one) and then the next day we shopped and shopped. Wonder what year 53 will bring for us???
Whatever it is it will be great. Because Oh yah, it doesn't matter what or where, it just matters that we are together doing "whatever"!

Kelly and Michelle

On May 16th Seth and I drove down to Utah to see Kelly and to also be there for Michelle's Sealing/Wedding the very next day. Seth watched movies and I sang the whole way down. Our trip was great!

We pulled in to Salt Lake City at about 7:30 pm. We unloaded the car and then walked towards Temple Square. The weather was Utah perfect! We stopped first at what used to be The Hotel Utah and snapped this picture and the one below.

We then walked on to Temple Square and I got this great shot of Kelly and Seth. I think Kelly had been missing her brother!

The temple at night. Any angle of the temple is beautiful no matter what time of day!

The next morning while doing a little shopping we saw TCBY. None of us had ever been there before and we were so glad we went because it's the best yogurt around! We actually went back a few days later and brought grandpa/daddy with us.

Later that day we went to the M.A.C. counter at Nordstrom where Michelle was getting her make-up done for her wedding. We got there just in time for a quick picture before she became Mrs. Bledsoe a couple of hours later!

It's not often we get to have pictures of us dressed up and in the same spot. But where are Sean and Caleb? Another time.

And it's even better when you can have 3 generations together!

Michelle and Jordan just as they walked out of the temple. Pretty happy pair I'd say.

Look at how happy Jordan is. They are both crazy about each other!

Prettiest shot of he day I think. You just can't beat it!

The Cahoon family. Laurel wasn't there because she is serving a mission but that's Brad's finace' Alyssa. She joins the family on July 28th, 2012!

As we were walking back from the temple to Kelly's apartment she and and Grandpa held hands most of the way. Is that not the cutest thing ever?! I'm not sure who enjoyed it more. Kelly or grandpa :).

Kelly's fridge was the official cooler for Michelle's reception flowers.

While at the reception we were able to see our favorite cousins and thier mom Stevie. Lee Lee and I used to visit them every summer when we were little and always had the best time. From snake grass to Mary Poppins! Megan, Debbie and I sadly discovered that we are only second cousins and not first cousins like I thought. No worries though. It hardly matters when it comes to family!

The next day we went to the Church History Museum. That museum never gets old no matter how many times you go. Here is Seth standing at the original(I think) podium that was once used in the original Tabernacle on temple square.

Kelly standing next to President Hinckley's items. Her favorite prophet!

Later that day we went to Nordstrom for lunch. This is where Kelly gets to work 5 days a week!

And here we are at our table in Sixth and Pine. Oh, did I mention that Kelly is the head hostess here? :)

Look at the size of that crouton! And the best fresh lemonade ever. They keep topping up your glass like it's water!

The day before Seth and I drove back home we decided to go to Hogel Zoo in SLC. The weather was perfect and I got a parking spot right by the entrance which was like the luckiest thing ever!
Anyway we took this little train ride around and saw the most exotic animals ever! A bison, Canadian Geese and a Hawk! So funny because those are native to where we live. That made the little train ride even funner and funnier! Ha!

What's a day at the zoo without a picture with an Ape right?

Look at the colors of the parrot. Now look at the colors of Kelly and Seth's shirts. Colors inspired by nature!

Seth loved Salt Lake and I loved being there too. We packed in a lot of fun in the 5 days we were there. Besides loving to visit Utah, I love being with family so it was the perfect combonation. Kelly is doing great living on her own and is very happy! And the best part? We get go back when ever we want because Kelly is there and that makes it so much better! Thank you for showing Seth and I a super great time Kelly!
